Palliative Care and Neurodegenerative Conditions
The 2025 annual Palliative Care Forum will be convened in person with an online attendance option, for health professionals in western Victoria.
This year’s forum will have a focus on palliative care and neurodegenerative conditions. The program will consist of presentations including a multi-disciplinary case study and panel discussion.
At the face to face component in Geelong, Hospice Foundation Geelong will be presenting the Dr Trevor Banks Palliative Care Scholarship to this year’s recipient.
Speakers:
- Multi-disciplinary panel including a General Practitioner, Palliative Care Specialist, Neurologist, Allied Health and carer perspectives
Topics:
- Neurodegenerative conditions and palliative care, with case study presentation and panel discussion
Learning Outcomes:
- Awareness of opportunities for ongoing collaboration between palliative, neurological and primary care, in providing care for people with neurodegenerative conditions, including transition between services
- Awareness of early options of care for neurodegenerative patients
- Demonstrate confidence in providing support to patients with neurodegenerative conditions so that GP involvement and continuity of care is appropriate and optimal
RACGP & ACRRM RP hours will be applied for.
